Honeymoon 2015 - Part 2 #BelumRainforest

the journey continued...

big thanks to my lovely husband, for driving more than 8hrs from Pahang to Perak via Terengganu and Kelantan. 4 states in one day. how tiring! finally around 8pm, we checked-in at one of our dream holiday places..

Belum Rainforest Resort

Hubby and Wifey at Royal Belum

try to avoid to travel along that long and hills road to Belum Rainforest Resort during night time cause it can be very dangerous. the road was totally dark, misty, foggy, fuzzy and curving. at some areas, please watch out for the animal crossing. a lots of rare animals you can find here including Tiger, Elephant, Mouse Deer, Malayan Tapir etc cause it is nearby Royal Belum State Park

'Belum' in Bahasa Malaysia means something like "not yet". this forest is "not yet" been explored. you may also can find the world's largest, rare and smelly flower, Rafflesia in this certain jungle - personally experienced by my husband during his previous visit to Belum Rainforest with his office colleagues. besides a long and time consuming of jungle trekking activity a.k.a Rafflesia Walk (well, Rafflesia is quite choosy, it won't grow easily at any place), they were also went for the bamboo rafting, boat cruising and fishing. both nature and water-based activities are easily found here cause the resort is located in the Banding Lake, and surrounded by Lake Temenggor

about the price lists; if i'm not mistaken, the Rafflesia Walk is @RM120/person (half-day tour); Discover Belum is from RM230(half-day)~RM300(full-day); Bamboo Rafting @RM70, Night Trekking also @RM70, Round Island Cruising @RM80 and Fishing Trip is from RM480(half-day)~RM700(full-day). most of the activities are only available for minimum 6 person per trip. since i was there with my husband only, and due to the time constraint, please... please... pleaseeee don't ask me more details about above activities.

the accommodation here is also quite pricey. the walk-in price for the Superior GardenView Room is @RM360; but i've booked online thru booking.com (3hrs before check-in); and managed to get only RM253.50 per room per night with breakfast. during the peak season, the room rate can increase up to RM700 for the very-same-room. there's no TV in the room, maybe the hotel want us to focus on the nature. i think that's the idea

the most expensive accommodation are the Houseboat (from RM5000~RM6000) and the 7-Bedroom Villa Tanjung Wan (from RM13,000~RM18,000) wow!

the room i stayed is the one i 'pentagon' in yellow. we got the upper floor room. our room is very close to the main restaurant. there's no other option, we have to had our a la carte dinner at the same restaurant too. the hotel was built on the hills area, we need to climb down to go to the swimming pool (behind the lobby) or jetty area.

according to my husband, this reading and observation rooftop is new. the hotel also has improve their parking facilities as well as they added a small and proper concrete walkway. last time, the only parking spaces available is in front of the lobby area. the other day, they allowed us to park our car in front of our room. yes! less walking and climbing.
